Everyone has heard of instant credit repair, No?

It does not exist! There are so many people out there pushing to sell materials that they claim can instantly repair your credit that it is almost ridiculous . I hate to break it to you, but, it takes time to repair your credit. Yes It's possible to speed up the process but it still won't happen over night.

There are some good sources out there to help you on your way to a good credit rating and who are legitimate.

Don't ever think that you are going to get a credit score raised within a month or even 60 days for that matter. You may well have a good start at the end of a couple months but not to a point of satisfaction.

In order to best fix your problem with credit , you will have to do something everyday. Or at least try to.

Self help credit repair is the best way to go. No spending an arm and a leg just to get bumped up a few points on your credit report.

Credit restoration services can be very expensive and why use them anyway considering you can DIY it. It's kind of funny how some credit restoration companies want a boat load of money from you to get the job done when after all you are supposed to be broke. Kind of odd huh?

You have got to stop the bad credit reports from continuing to be placed on your record.

1. Get overdue accounts payed up - This will not increase a credit score but it needs to be the first step to stop the bleeding.

2. Open up a new checking account - Start all over. I know it is a pain but you've got to do it.

3. Get a secured credit card - You will need to deposit a few hundred dollars into your new account and apply for a secured card. There is nothing hard about this, anyone can do it. Make sure that you purchase things on this new card and then pay your bill on time. No Late Payments!

4. Open up a couple more accounts - Get more secured cards by following the above steps. By paying the monthly credit card bills on time every month, you will increase your score as you will be having positive reports starting to roll in.

Remember that it takes some time for the negative credit reports to come off. Sometimes it takes years. The good thing is that you are starting to do some serious credit repair. In time your credit score will climb and it will be all worth it. Ya, it takes time. There are no real quick fixes even though you may have heard different.

You can speed things up by doing the steps above. If you don't start somewhere than forget about ever having a good credit rating again

*Don't make ANY late payments

*Although tempting, do not accept every credit card offer that comes your way in the mail...Toss Them!

*Make sure that you have some kind of planned schedule for paying your bills so as to never miss a payment.

*Have Patience! It takes a while to up your credit score.
